Desert Hot Springs also has three city parks, the crown jewel being Desert Hot Springs Park, an interactive water display showcasing the city's springs. The city of Desert Hot Springs features several public golf courses, tennis courts, and miles of hiking and bridle trails on the desert floor and in the mountains adjacent to the city.
Another point of interest is a trail off Long Canyon road that leads to a stone cabin built by local legend Chuckwalla Bill. In addition, the 4,500-acre Big Morongo Canyon Preserve -- a nature park which houses bighorn sheep, bobcats, coyotes and more than 235 bird species -- is nearby.
